What does callus removal cost?

Callus removal is included in the standard treatment of €45 at the practice or €50 at your home. Separately as a short treatment it costs €28.50.

The explanation

There is no charge per callused spot. Whatever needs to go is removed within the treatment. Patty removes the callus with a blade and or finishes it mechanically, right up to where the dead tissue ends.

More important than the price is why the callus is there. It forms where the skin is repeatedly loaded on the same spot: a shoe that is too narrow, a hard sole, standing work or a foot that rolls unevenly.

Patty discusses that cause with you. Without removing the pressure the callus simply returns, and then you keep removing the same thing every six weeks without anything changing.

Patty's advice

Moisturising with a cream containing five to ten per cent urea keeps the callus layer soft and stretches the time between treatments.
