Callus is not a disease but a defence mechanism. Wherever the skin is repeatedly loaded, the body builds a thicker layer. Useful, until that layer becomes so thick that it forms a pressure point of its own and starts to rub, sting or tear.
Patty removes the callus with a blade and or finishes it mechanically. More important still is the question of where the pressure comes from: a shoe that is too narrow, the position of the foot, or simply standing on hard floors all day. She discusses that with you, because without addressing the cause the callus simply returns.
Callus removal is a standard part of the basic treatment. If that is your only complaint, it can also be booked separately as a short treatment of up to thirty minutes for €28.50.

Everything you want to know about the callus removal.
Because the pressure that causes it is still there. Often that lies in footwear, in the position of the foot or in standing work. Removing the pressure is the only real solution; until then, regular removal keeps it bearable.
A foot file or pumice stone after showering does no harm. Stay away from sharp blades and strong callus removers: the risk of a wound or of skin that becomes too thin is high.
No. Callus is dead skin and has no feeling. Patty stops in time, before the living skin underneath is reached.
It is included in the standard treatment of €45 at the practice or €50 at your home. Separately as a short treatment it costs €28.50.
Definitely. A cream containing urea keeps the skin supple, so callus hardens less quickly and is less likely to crack.
For most people every six to eight weeks. If you stand or walk a lot, it can be sooner.
