What does treating an ingrown nail cost?

Freeing an ingrown nail edge is included in the standard treatment of €45. Separately as a short treatment it costs €28.50.

The explanation

With an ingrown toenail an edge of the nail pricks into the skin. Patty frees that edge and removes what is pressing, after which the edge is finished smoothly so no spike remains to grow in again.

The relief is often immediate. For a nail that keeps returning a shorter treatment interval can help, so the edge never gets long enough to grow in.

If the toe is already badly inflamed, with pus, throbbing pain or fever, that belongs with your GP. Patty says honestly when that is the case and does not treat what she should not treat.

Patty's advice

Half the problem is in the trimming. Cutting straight, no shorter than the toe tip and not rounding the corners prevents most ingrowth.
