For most people every six to eight weeks works. With stubborn callus, recurring corns or cracks, four to six weeks is often wiser.
Toenails grow roughly half a millimetre to a millimetre a month. After six to eight weeks there is enough growth to trim again and callus has had time to build. Come much sooner and there is little to do; come much later and the work does not always fit into one treatment.
Standing work, walking a lot on hard floors, nails that curve strongly or thicken quickly: all reasons to shorten the interval. If the last two weeks before your appointment are always uncomfortable, you are leaving too long between treatments.
What you do at home counts. Anyone who moisturises daily with a urea cream and uses a foot file after showering keeps the skin supple and naturally stretches the interval.
Book the next appointment straight after your treatment. It saves searching and prevents too much time passing.
