Oosterpolder together with Bangert forms the new build area between Zwaag and Blokker. The district is young, spaciously laid out and has plenty of water and greenery.
Residents of Oosterpolder walk and run a lot in their own district. Sport loads the foot harder: more kilometres, more impact and more moisture in the shoe. Blisters, a bruised toenail and callus on the ball of the foot come with that.
Do not have callus fully removed just before a race; leaving ten days is wiser. Patty adjusts the treatment accordingly if you mention it.
Blisters come from friction combined with moisture. Seamless socks that wick moisture and a shoe secured firmly around the instep prevent most of them. If you feel a hot spot while walking, tape it immediately: a hot spot is a blister that has not happened yet.
Preferably not right before. Leaving about ten days is wiser.
Usually a bruise from a shoe that is too short. Have it looked at and check your shoe length.
