If you have never visited a pedicurist, you may not know what to expect. That need not be a barrier: a treatment is calm, clean and not painful. This is what happens.
The treatment starts with cleansing and disinfecting the foot. That is not only hygienic, it also makes the skin easier to assess.
Meanwhile Patty looks at the position of your foot, at where the callus sits and at the nails. Whatever stands out, she discusses with you.
The nails are cut straight across and finished mechanically, so no sharp edges remain that could prick the skin. The area around the nail is cleaned.
If a nail is thickened it is flattened so it no longer presses against the shoe. If an edge is growing in, it is freed.
Then the callus is removed with a blade and or mechanically. You do not feel it: callus is dead tissue. Underneath it, complaints appear that need attention.
A corn is removed, cracks are levelled so they cannot tear further. Everything that is done is explained as it happens.
The foot is disinfected again. Finally there is a short massage with a lovely foot cream, chosen to match your skin type.
The practice works exclusively with HFL Laboratories, a product line made for feet and nails: kind to the skin and with natural ingredients that help it recover.
You get advice to take home: which cream, how often to moisturise, what to watch out for when trimming and when choosing shoes.
Together you decide when to come back. For most people that is every six to eight weeks; with complaints a little sooner.

A standard treatment takes the time your feet need. For one specific complaint there is the short treatment of up to thirty minutes.
