Bring the shoes you wear most and mention medication, diabetes or rheumatism. Remove nail polish beforehand.
The wear and shape of your most worn shoes often show exactly where the pressure causing your complaint lies. That makes the advice afterwards more concrete than any explanation could.
Remove nail polish so the nail can be assessed properly. On the day itself it is better not to use thick cream: moisturised skin is harder to assess and to work on. An extensive foot bath beforehand is not needed.
If you take medication that affects your skin or circulation, or if you have diabetes or rheumatism, please mention it. That determines how the treatment is done and when referral is better.
Briefly describe what is bothering you and since when, and what you have already tried. That saves time and avoids repeating advice that did not work.
